PUBLISHER'S NOTES: Olympics & the China Markets

(Originally published on July 31, 2015 via CBK’s email CBK Digest. To sign up see box on right side of the website.)

This morning I heard the news of the 2022 Winter Olympics being awarded to Beijing. I had two thoughts, 1) maybe that will help the China markets next week, 2) maybe by 2022 the China markets will reach maturity and the PRC government will have a better idea, when and how, it should step in. I hope to live long enough to see how it turns out!

BIG NEWS FOR CBK: CBK will be launching a Dim Sum Networking Lunch in San Francisco, Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at City View Restaurant.

This could only happen via a partnership with Paul Wilke of Upright Position Communications, and our current sponsors, Beijing-based CSOFT and Asia Times. (Please be in touch if you would like to sponsor).

RE: Today’s Digest: This might be the longest Digest I have written in the 7 years I have been publishing CBK. Even though I am currently receiving many “Out-of-Office” vacation emails, it seems like there is no standstill to this sector during the summer holidays. I am not going to belabor the news in my Publisher’s Note, so you can move on and read the briefs. Not to mention I am on the way to the Outer Banks!

Cheers! Have a great weekend!
